Vintage Creative Therapies SALA 2024

Featured artist: Benita Heddle, Nest, 480mm x 410mm, Indian ink on paper

Entwined - OPening: 9th August 6pm to 8pm

Family and friends of participating artists are invited to join Vintage Creative Therapies for our 2024 SALA exhibition opening featuring various works exploring the theme  entwined.  Entwined will exhibit for the first time an intergenerational collaborative group art work with accompanying  soundscape, created over two x 2 hour workshops during the month of May.

“Nest” is symbolic of the way life intertwines itself to create a holding space where amazing things can be created and held.

As a bird would create a nest for its babies, artists engage and become entwined with each other, with the purpose of creating something unique, that can be held in a space and appreciated by others.

The differently entwined pieces of the nest make

Made in 2020, The Persuasion is a work that continues my fascination with chirality (thus entwinement) as an engineering principle for beginnings of life within chemical structures. The choice of upcycled copper follows a desire to divine aesthetic composition from everyday discarded materials, albeit that I am no longer able to source from the Adelaide second hand mark

'L1' Ian Mowbray & Yvette Dumergue


  

We have chosen one of our series of glass spines to contribute to this exhibition “Entwined”.

L1 is inspired from a lumbar vertebrae of the human spine.

The design of L1 incorporates a single element passing through another, interlocking the previous one into position, and continuing in this manner until the required length is established.

Each element is entwining
